Mu Phi History
On February 14, 1976, thirteen young women envisioning the same dreams as the twenty-two founders were chartered into Mu Phi as the 515th chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated with the assistance and guidance of the Flint Alumni Chapter. At this time, Mu Phi Flint city-wide chapter consisted of women matriculating at the University Of Michigan - Flint and General Motors Institute (now Kettering University). These confident women desired to obtain the goals of this glorious organization thru involvement in the welfare of the Flint community thru services and community participation. Mu Phi chapter continues to thrive with new accomplishments, successful programs and public service. Mu Phi chapter knows and lives by the sorority's public motto, "Intelligence is the torch of wisdom."
Mu Phi Flint City-Wide Chapter consists of Baker College of Flint, Davenport University, Kettering University and University of Michigan - Flint.
